The strange and disappointing problems of locating Irish genealogy

From bunk beds to the White House, Irish Americans have held a pivotal roll in the functionality and success of the United States. There are currently over 30 million Americans that reported to be of Irish ancestry in the 2008 American Community Survey. That’s approximately 11.9% of the entire U.S. population. When it comes to finding Irish genealogy there are people who believe that locating information is not only difficult, but nearly impossible.
For one reason or another difficulties were was placed upon this area of tracking your ancestors and the truth is there are amazing things happening in Ireland regarding family history. These difficulties included indifference in Ireland and destruction of almost all census data predating 1901 during war in Ireland in 1920's. However it seems as though everyday there are new records becoming available and much of this is free.
There are many who claim that this has become a golden era for locating and unraveling your family heritage, particularly for those of Irish decent. This is a rich culture that has contributed greatly to the society that we currently live in. It doesn't matter if your ancestors began in bunk beds in a poor part of town, or if they grew up to be the leader of the free world, if this is something that you have longed to understand and trace, there has never been a better time to start.
