Sunday 21 January 2007 7:47:00 pm John Michael (Jack) SmythI am trying to find any info. on the above. He was born in the townland of Aughakilmore (Aghakilmore) in Cavan on 18 Jan 1911. He emigrated to New York in the 40's. I believe in Cavan he was a teacher but went to US with two of his brothers to go into business. I believe he died in New York June 85. |

Thursday 03 January 2008 11:11:20 pm John Michael Jack SmythThere is a family of Smyth (Smith)still residing in Aughakilmore.Several of the previous generation emigrated to New York, possibly in the 30s. There was a Jack Smyth, Barney Smyth, James Smyth, and at least three Sisters.All except James died in U.S.I think there was a Mary and Bessie among the girls. I think one was married to a Coyle man. |
