McNamara - St John's, Waterford

Hi. Does anyone have access to a legible version of the St John's, Waterford parish records c 1805-1810? Looking for the parents and siblings of James McNamara, baptised St John's Waterford c1806-1808. I did find a Martin McNamara baptised 13th March 1808 with parents James McNamara and Joanna Quin? Sponsors Michael Hogan and Catherine McNamara. Hoping that someone can find a record for my James McNamara around this time. Thanks. Colleen from Perth in West Aust.

McNamara born Waterford

Hi, doesn't sound as though your McNamara in UK is related to mine.

I only know that my James McNamara was born in the parish of St John's in Waterford, Co Waterford c1806-1808. He actually joined the British Army and served in various places. He ended up in Chatham, Kent where he was discharged.

One daughter, Catherine McNamara was born in Limerick c1840; Bridget McNamara was born in Burma/India c1845. I believe the soldiers often took their wives with them!

My James McNamara then came here to Western Australia as a pensioner guard - ie in charge of convicts. He arrived in 1853 with both daughters and (another?) wife, Julia. He died here in WA in 1883.
