Cavan and his wife Mary Galligan b.1847 Drunbee Co.Cavan. They were married 1863 Drumkilly Co.Cavan. Their son James was born 1864 Ballinanagh Co.Cavan and they left Ireland on the "Maryborough" for Australia in 1866. They settled in Townsville Queensland and ran a Dairy.
