Feeney and Byrne family History
Dear Garry Feeney,
I am just starting out on my Irish research and wonder if you have any connection to Feeney's from Co. Leitrim? Or do you know anyone else researching Feeney's who might be able to help me?
My Feeney connection is as follows:
Pat Byrne, a farmer, was father of Mary Byrne, born abt.1844, Moneyduff, Drumlease.
Mary Byrne married James Feeney b.abt.1844 Greenaun, Drumlease, Co. Leitrim. They were married at Drumlease Chapel in June 1865.
Mary ad James had Mary Anne Feeney b.8th Feb.1867, Dromahaire
Mary Anne married Henry Steer (b.1867, Croydon, Surrey, England) in Dublin in 1889.
Henry and Mary had abt. 9 children, in Ireland and England; my ancestor Fred Steer was born in 1896 in Yorkshire.
Fred married Floss Clapp (b.1902 Surrey) in 1920 and they had Peter Steer in 1930.
Peter went on to marry Alison Steel in 1957, then my mum, Troll, was born and evenually my mum had me in 1983 in Hampstead, London.
Any information on Feeney's in Leitrim area of Dromahaire, Drumlease and surrounding areas (Greeaun etc.) would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Bye for now
