trying to find info on mccaffertys in ireland, possibly donegal.
My ggparents maternal family are McCafferty's from Ballyshannon, donegal,thou there are a great number of them,
Rose married John Doherty b 1829. Children included Edward, Michael and James among others. Would love to find a connection. I have been unable to trace back beyond Rose and don't know of any siblings since I don't know her parents.
My great (2) uncle Edward Caffrey born Jan 1838 somewhere near Castlefin Co Donegal to John McCaffrey and Maggie Kelly was married to Sallie Martin. I haven't been able to locate a marriage in Philadelphia PA although he appears to have been married in 1889. Hope someone can shine a little light at the end of the tunnel.
