Cavan (county)
My grandfather was called James Scott. His parents both came to NE England from Ireland in the mid 1800s. He died over 40 years ago, but there was always a family tradition that his Irish roots were in Co Cavan. Is Scott a common name there? His father was also called James and I think elder James' mother may have been called Murtagh.
