Addition to Mahon/Mahan, Mangan, Redmond-posting 4/4/2005
Could someone please tell me if I have "correctly" made some progress?
Using Griffiths Valuations, The Irish Parish Registers by Brian Mitchell, and also his Genealogical Atlas of Ireland, I have found a Michael Mahon, who possibly could be the father of my husband's great-great grandfather James Mahon, listed in Townland-Donoughue's Lane, Cork, Parish-St. Marys Shandon.
In the Parishes of County Cork Middle, this is # 91 on page 34 of the Atlas.
Is there anyone in Cork who is more familiar with the records there who could tell me if this Michael is the father of my elusive James, born 1832 in Cork. As far as I can tell now Ancestry does not yet have these records.
I am in California and can't easily get to the General Record Office or the Parish Church office.
Thanks for ANY HELP!!!!
