James Mahon, wife Theresa Mangan were my husband's great grandparents. I can find no birth or marriage dates for them but believe they were both born about 1832 in Cork Co. somewhere.

Their first 2 children were born in Ireland, probably Cork, Michael in 1853 and Edward in 1855. They came to the U. S. sometime 1860 or before. Port of embarcation, U. S. arrival port, and ship unknown. Theresa's father possibly Edward Mangan and mother a Redmond.

There is a Michael Mahon on the Griffith's Valuation list at Donoughue's Lane, Cork, St. Mary's Shandon Parish, and an Edward Mangan, Ballyhooly Parish, Ballyhooly South.

In the U. S., on the 1860 census this family is living next to the Thomas, age 26, & Catherine, age 27, Mangan family, in Rockland, Ontonagon Co., Michigan. Probably related but I have no way of knowing.

If anyone can help me find correct parents, birth & marriage records, places, etc. it would be wonderful. I have been searching for them since 1983.
