About Us

My Irish Ancestry
Welcome to www.MyIrishAncestry.com .Post your Irish genealogy family research query on our Irish county forums. Add your research "locations" which can be townlands, civil parishes, baronies or poor law unions (PLUs). These may occur in census, church or ship records. Irish counties are divided into smaller divisions called baronies or civil-parishes. Smallest division is a townland. It is important to add these "locations" to your personal profile and family research topic postings so others researching those locations can find your query and possibly answer your query. Do not worry if you do not know townland of your ancestor(s). You can associate as many townlands as you wish with simular spellings with your topic. If you only know larger areas such as civil parish, barony, plu or just county, you can add these locations also. You can also send "private messages" to authors of other topics and others can contact you using "private messages". This means your email address remains private to you but website allow others to contact you directly.
