My mother's maiden name is Turkington. Her father was born in Lurgan, County Armagh. One relative suggests that the name of Turkington came to Ulster as a result of 2 brothers who were aide de camps to one of the King Williams. Would anyone have information on how to verify this claim? If it was far enough back the name may have been spelt as Torkington or de Torkington.
