I am having trouble finding information that states what the two crosses in the mother's name section of a Belfast birth certificate means. The certificate was issued in 1913. I presume the crosses would have something to do with their faith. They must be indicative of something. But I cannot seem to find any reference to crosses on a birth certificate anywhere. Can anyone fill me in?
