Looking for information as to where in Ireland my relatives came from. Bernard McCabe (born about 1842-44) son of Patrick McCabe and Bridget Brennan maried Maria Fleming (born about 1843-45) daughter of Thomas Fleming and Margaret McDonald. They were married in Newark, New Jersey USA in 1865. They arrived in the US in 1864. Bernard also had an older brother named Patrick. Any informatiion would be greatly appreciated.
Bernard and Marie McCabe are my Great Great Grandparents. According to my information, Bernard McCabe was born 1844. Maria Fleming McCabe was born 1845. Bernard McCabe, Sr. was one of 7 children. He had 9 children, including my Great Grandfather, Daniel McCabe. Bernard McCabe, Jr. was his older brother and signed my Great Grandfather's marriage license as a witness, as did his (presumed) wife, Ellen.

Was your great grandfather Daniel born in 1884? If so, then we are on the right track. Bernard Jr was my great grandfather - Ellen would have been Daniel's brother John Francis's wife - Ellen Calvey.
I have no information about Bernard Sr. siblings (one of 7 is a great start - he did have a brother, Patrick that I know about) - if you would be kind enough to share, I would appreciate it greatly. I have been searching for years as to where in Ireland the McCabes are from and for other family members. I do not know how to pm you since no link to that came up - you may email me at ***

Hi Valerie! Indeed. Daniel McCabe was born October 9, 1884 (Newark). He was baptized one month later at St. Patrick's Cathedral (Newark). On November 8, 1920, Daniel McCabe married Mary Davis at the Church of the St. Rose of Lima (Newark). Bernard McCabe, Jr. and Ellen McCabe were witnesses. On July 19, 1922, my grandmother, Mary Francis McCabe, was born. They lived in Moosic, PA (Scranton area). Later, they moved back to Newark. She married William O'Malley. I have all of these certificates.
Patrick McCabe and Bridget Brenan are my Great Great Great Grandparents. Bridget Brennan had 3 brothers (William, Daniel, and Patrick) and 1 sister (Winifred). Patrick and Bridget McCabe had 7 children, including 2 sons (Bernard, Sr. and Daniel) and 5 daughters (Catherine, Julia, Mary, Eliza, and Winifred).
