Bergin
Robert James Bergin (Burigan) is born to James and Louisa on December 27, 1876. Robert is baptized John Robert Bergin as a Catholic at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 503 East 14th Street, New York City on June 24, 1877. Sister Lizzie Bergin is listed as one of his sponsors, i.e. his godmother. Tragedy soon overtakes the young family. Sometime near the turn of the decade (1879/80) James dies in a railroad accident.
Lizzie Bergin marries a Westervelt and is buried in the Freehold St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery on the Freehold-Englishtown Road at the junction with Route 9.
