Oliver/Ryder/Seabrooke
My G-Grandfather Joseph Oliver moved to Avoca from Cornwall in the 1850's and married Anne Jackson shortly afterwards. They had several children, including my grandfather Joseph who married Margaret Ryder of Wicklow. Her father, Edward, was a bootmaker in Wicklow and married Sarah Seabrooke. Edward's father John was also a shoemaker and Sarah's father, John was a steward. Any information would be very much appreciated.16/11/2006 9:31 pm

RYDER/ARKLOW/WICKLOW
Hi Kevin,
I'd be interested in knowing which Church Edward Ryder Baptized his children. You mention Arklow. Is it the Arklow Church? Catholic or C of I? I'm interested in a John Ryder who married a Margaret Mahon c. 1900. Thanks!

Ryder's from Arklow
Dear Peggy,
I am unsure as to the church that they attended. I was searching through the registers in Dublin a couple of years ago trying to search for all the Ryders in Ireland!!! And during that futile exercise I came across 2 birth entries for Alfred and Sarah Jane Ryder whose parents were Edward and Sarah Nee Seabrook(e). So far I have noted down 368 Ryders that were born between the years 1864-1892 (1869-1874 still to do) My current search is for a Peter Ryder b 1885 in Arklow, I have the Birth entry in the National registers but little else. There is however a Rev Peter Ryder who registered on a ship from Liverpool to leave to go to America in 1912 aged 24 born in Limerick who along with a lady passenger did not board and dissapeared?
Thanks for all your good work in the Arklow web sites
Regards
Kevin
