William George Turkington 1872 was my great grandfather. Father to Pierce, (married Mary Mellon in 1914)my grandfather (1894), father to Pierce, (married Gudny Eldor-Turkington in 1945) my father, (1921). I would like to know more about the Scottish connection and about the significance of the Christian name: ‘Pierce’ which occurs frequently in this family.
