Hi,
I am following up on my g.g.grandmother who was a ward of Lucious O'Brien at Dromoland Castle, Co. Clare, and married Charles Little in 1855 at Kilnasoolagh Church in Newcastle-on-Fergus. Apparantly she was the niece of Lord Dixon (who we can not find either). Wedding record is below:
LITTLE, Charles Age: 20
Wife: Bridget DIXON Age: 19
Marriage Date: 30 Mar 1855 Recorded in: Kilnasulagh, Clare
Collection: Civil Registration
Husband's Father: James LITTLE
Wife's Father: John DIXON
Source: FHL Film 101366 Dates: 1855 - 1855
No one in the family is clear on why she was the ward of Lucious and lived at Dromoland, however must have been close to here uncle because Charles was Lord Dixons' valet?
Bridget and Charles immigrated to Australia and nothing is know of their Irish ancestory beyond these couple of points.
