What little info i have....
My Family name is Burke, my grandmother was a Burke from the town of Gort in County Galway. Her father was Thomas and Mother was Catherine(healy). She had a brother that still lived in Gort up until his death a couple of years ago, Kevin. Burke is a very popular name in Galway and as i have found out it is very hard to get an exact reading on your relatives, even when you have a decent starting place, like i do. There are pages all over the internet telling of the origins of BURKE, so i wont go on too long here, but it is derived from the Norman name De Burgh and was brought to Ireland C.1150ad. I am really just starting myself looking in to all this sorry i could not be of more help
