my great grandparents came from Mayo and Sligo dont know who from where, grt grandad Owen Gerty(poss scots translation of Irish derivative) Born 1865 ish his parents were Michael Gerty (Farmer) and Mary ms Mctaig(poss other scots translation)Sligo/Mayo,My grt gran Annie Docherty (poss scots spelling again)born 1868 ish, her parents were John Docherty (Farmer)and Annie ms Reilly (poss correct spelling ?)my grt grndparents met in Glasgow then wed in 1895 (got copy of wed cert)had two daughters Annie (my gran) and Mary (known as Minnie)at some time before or after my gran was born 1900 they changed name to McGarrity( prob nearer actual sounding of Owens own surname ?)not got much info ..only what ive put here..other than that my dad Matthew went to Sligo/Mayo as a kid to friends of grt aunt Minnie Prob before WW2.. so if any one out there maybe reconise any info i have entered ..i would be greatful as hitting brick walls constantly with such little information...thanks
