I am interested in a) finding out my Irish ancestors and when they came to the US and b) applying for an Irish passport.

Can anyone help?

Irish Passport
Mark you can only apply for an Irish Passport if you are an Irish Citizen obviously.

In US try the Irish Embassy.

Re: Irish passport
You can apply for an irish passport if you had a parent or grandparent who was an irish citizen at the time of your birth or if you were born in Northern Ireland. See here http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/moving_country/irish_citizenship/irish_citizenship_through_birth_or_descent.html

for more info.
