Magee
I am new to researching Irish records, and am more than a bit lost. I am searching for information on my gggrandfather, Henry Magee (b. 1 June 1822).

At some point, he emigrated to the United States. I know he was here in the Wisconsin, USA in December of 1866, which is when he married my gggrandmother.

The first 44 years of his life are a complete mystery. There are other Magee families in the same area of Wisconsin, USA at that time, but none of them can find if/how they are related. The other Magee men that appeared in that vicinty around the same time (and just as mysteriously) are James and William, who would have been born around 1825-1832.

As far as religion, I *believe* Henry to be Catholic. He married a Presbyterian widow in 1866 in her family's church, but their son (b.1872) practiced Catholism until he married in 1909.

If anyone can shove me in the direction I need to go, I would be greatly appreciated.
