Hi
Am trying to trace my gggrandfather Patt Syron. Birth 1825. Transported to Australia age 15 in 1840. He may have had brothers Daniel,Hugh and Martin. No parish or townland. Please help if you can.

syron's
Hello Gerard,
I am looking for my ggg grandfather Martin Syron and wonder if he could be the brother of your ggg grandfather Patrick, or even Patrick's father?!!!!! (You mentioned a Martin.)
Martin's daughter, Sabina Syron, married in Birmingham England in 1857. She was born in Castlebar Co. Mayo in 1836. I have heard from the North Mayo genealogy office that the surname Syron was prevelent in the Addergoole area, close to Castlebar, in the diocese of Killala. I only discovered the christian name of Sabina's father last week, so I am now trying to find any record of him. I noticed on the 1851 U.K. census that Sabina was lodging at the house of a Michael Syron in Birmingham. Michael was born in Ireland in 1808, it could be that he was her uncle, and a brother to Martin. I will keep you informed should I have any news of Patrick.
Regards sheila.
