Grannells
Hi John, You little Angel.
We seem to be going great with this,(or should I say you are)?
Michael and Mary are my g g grandparents.I dont know when they came to Liverpool or how, I assume they came on the famine ships, Michaels trade was as a joiner pattern maker, 2 of his sons where also joiners and james another son had something to do with the railway here Trade?,Michael and Mary had children Moses, John (died) James.
Thomas. John. Margaret, Mary bulger grannell died in 1883 in liverpool. Michael died in 1885 in liverpool, I am in touch with grandchildren of Moses line thru genes reunited.
but none of us have this vital info you have sent to me,
Thomas grannell b 1858 was my g grandad. he had a son thomas michael my grandad
who died in 1934 a year before I was born. he had a large family as did his father thomas
My Mother Ivy Grannell /mcleodused to tell me about my 2 great aunts who went to U S A about 1920s, My Mother was named after IvyGrannell and me and my motherssister
Ruth where named after Ruth Grannell.and this is how my tale began, and how I got hooked on genealogy,I bought a second hand P/C never having a clue what to do with it, done everything wrong but taught myself how to get around on it with my one finger, I then went on to a message board probably rootsweb and put up a message looking for Grannell RUTHand Ivy I got Ruth in Ellis Island arriving there May 1920 but couldnt find Ivy we knew they had gone together so I started looking down passenger list of s s Celtic the ship Ruth was on, I found a Marion Ivy Tribuzio and remembering that she had married an italian put 2and2 together, a trip to our Library and we found she had married here in L:iverpool in 1920, anyway I went back into message boards again browsing and found a message from a tribuzio (went like this) Hi I am Tribuzio
I always said I would look for my mothers roots as I can only go back one generation
I then mailed him asking was his Mother marion Ivy Grannell whohad a sister Ruth Grannell and he replied to me and YES itr was her grandson, his Dad and uncle where still alive both of Ivys children she had died when they where only little boys, her eldest son died shortly after I found them but at least he knew I was looking for him, I am in touch with the other son Who sent me some treasures when his wife died he was sorting out her belongings and found a snapshot album of his mothers FULL of Pics
including her Visa wwedding Pics allsorts of info What a Present, I treasure it
and I copied all the photos etc for the family so they where thrilled to bits also. this all started 2 years ago, and that is only one branch of my tree which now has 47different
surnames and 240 names and still some to go on it, so you see I am an Addict to the internet and genealogy,So thank you John for the info Ruth
