Patrick Doran
Hi friends,

We'll be traveling to Ireland soon and are looking to possibly visit the ancestral homelands of my family, the Dorans...if we can find it! Here is the furthest out lineage information we have to go by:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/142832452/barnard-doran

We have information detailing that Barnard "Barney" Doran (born 1846, somewhere in Ireland) emigrated to the United States via Scottland in or around 1873 and eventually settled in northeast Ohio (close to Pennsylvania). In fact, Barney's death certificate states that he was born in Ireland. From here, this Doran line continued to the present day in the same area.

It's also listed at findagrave that his known parents were Patrick Doran and Anna (McCohan). They have no listed birth or death dates, however, we are going by the assumption that Patrick Doran was almost certainly born in Ireland in the early 19th century, perhaps in the 1820s, which would put his son at an age old enough to emigrate to the USA.

However, we've seem to hit a dead end no matter where we search in regards to those two! The only general thing we know is that the Doran clan are located around south/southeast Ireland, but we'd *really* like to find a town, location or even cemetery that we can pay respect and homage to my ancestors in Ireland. Or even find a living relative!

Would anyone have any information regarding Patrick Doran or even any more detailed information on where these Dorans might have called their home centuries ago?

Thank you very much for your time!
